Paste and Go 0.4.3

This extension lets you paste an URL from the clipboard into the address bar and load it as a single step, either via the adress bar's context menu or by pressing Ctrl-Shift-V. Similarly, you can "Paste and Search" via the search bar's context menu or Ctrl-Shift-S.

Development of this extension has been discontinued - please use Paste and Go 2, created by Holio Lin, instead. It builds on my original code and is the official successor to Paste and Go, adding several new features.

Features introduced by 0.4.x

• Paste and Go can now optionally load pages in a new tab. To activate this, enter about:config in the location bar, press enter, locate extensions.pasteandgo.OpenNewTab, double-click to change the value to true, then restart the browser. The setting applies to both "Paste and Go" and "Paste and Search" functions.
• If you want, you can now change the modifier keys from "Control Shift" to something else. Via about:config (see above), change extensions.pasteandgo.GoAccelKeys and extensions.pasteandgo.SearchAccelKeys. Valid values are shift, control, alt, accel and meta or a combination of them (separated by spaces).
• 0.4.1 fixes a bug in 0.4 that caused the search engine's homepage to appear instead of the search results page.
• 0.4.2 is compatible with Firefox 1.5 Beta 1.
• 0.4.3 fixes a problem with Paste and Search opening a tab in Firefox 1.5 Beta 1. Additionally, it adds support for the Linux selection clipboard (set the extensions.pasteandgo.PreferSelectionClipboard preference to false to have the extension prefer the global clipboard if both contain text).
